Built In at the Neutra VDL House 2021
On Building In, a curator’s essay for ‘Built In’, an exhibition at the Neutra VDL House in Los Angeles, CA (2021).
Featuring newly-created work by thirty-two artists, designers, architects, and other creative practicioners, Built In sought to celebrate a specific kind of artistic response that was domestically-oriented, intimately-scaled, and place-sensitive. My curatorial essay reflected on this spirit of built-in-ness with quiet observation, much like the exhibited works themselves.
