Dear Reader,

Avoiding the Bummerness is me, Erik Benjamins.

I help people find the words they want to use to communicate their work into the world. Trained as a visual artist, my writing is multiform and flexible, responding directly to context and audience. Whether working with an independent comic book publisher or a restaurant group, I approach each project as a collaborating visitor—a writer-in-residence even—offering a fresh perspective and an attentive ear to arrive at a polished product that sings with grace, impact, and clarity.

The style and voice of my work is as diverse as my clients: designers, artists, creative agencies, an HR consulting firm, and an educator to name a few. I believe that writing is a medium that empowers through its accessibility and as such always enjoy sharing my process when helpful for the task at hand. To write ‘in residence’, in support of others has been one of my most rewarding pursuits. It only betters my work as a visual artist, forever inspired by a love of language and its poetic possibilities.

If you're interested in working together, I look forward to hearing from you!

Yours,
Erik
